Basically the page to drop the user file and contents will not accept a drag and drop from applications. What now?

  3. Thanks for these and there are indeed some nice patches among. Anyway I’d expected some more presets within that collection – it’s quite unusual for a synth coming with ’empty’ user banks 😉
In addition I’d like to recommend adding some kind of random feature to the software patch editor e.g. like the ‘Lazy’ buttons in HGFortune VSTi which provide a really good job for inspirations to completely new sounds.

Love the new sounds, Took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to get them in the keyboard. This was the 1st time I used the data editor app. I also backup everything while I was adding the new sounds.

Anyway thanks for the news sounds!!

Like the new Hex & Solo sounds. And this is the first time using the data editor but Found it quite easy after a little bit of head scraching. Also updated the FW. Like the fact that i don’t have to over write a preset sound test i might want a slightly different version of but still want to keep the original. In terms of value for money, the xw-p1 has got to be one of the best boards out there.

The SD cart must be content the folder: MUSICDAT,copy the files out of the Zip,and paste
in this folder. When you have not this folder, you can read an error-mesage.
Thanks for the great sounds, specially the Copland JD in Hexlayer is a fantastic sound !

      Sara,
The best and easiest way is using the Data Manager software which can be downloaded from here: http://support.casio.com/download.php?rgn=5&cid=008&pid=1163

Once you’ve downloaded the editor, put the sounds you’ve downloaded from the web into the UserData folder (On Windows this is c:\Users\yourname\Documents\CASIO\EMI\DataEditorP1\UserData) Then using the transfer utility on the Data Manager you can drag the new sounds over to empty slots on your XW-P1.

As an alternative you can put them on a SD-Card. The files need to go into the MUSICDAT folder on the SD-Card and then you can load them into the XW-P1.

@sara:its IMPORTANT, you need a folder named MUSICDAT on the SD-Card,and then its important, the MODE, turn your casio XW-P1 on, push the TONE-BUTTON,not PERFORM,or STEPSEQ…and now push Hexlayer in the orange marked field.
And now push menu.button, and then i hope you have the card inserted(SD-Card-slot).
with the cursor-buttons,click card load, and push enter, and now came the question y/n,push for yes.with enter you have it.
And now you can with the buttons NO/YES select your favorite Sound.push enter, and are you shure..and thats it.
    for any questions :u.chemnitz68@hotmail.com
    I hope this helps..

    Hello Evribody!

I was bought last week too a Casio XW-P1, and must to say, it will be a good usable keyboard. In first moment the pcm sounds not the best, but I use under this Casio an old Yamaha psr300 – maybe the XW sounds are more dynamically and thicker. And the multilayer possiblity can hidden inside much more possible magic combinations, like the factory presets. Other side- the keys, the keybed and key-feeling high better than the cheapest Yamaha psr serie, and the Korg PA600. I would be happy, if Mike or anybody else could be upload some more usable tones, multilayers. I was made some too , íf have any others to change, I will give my readily.

Unbelievable sounds. Thanks so much! Just purchased the XW-P1 and really still in a state of disbelief that such great sounds, live performance controls, rich features like arpeggio and sequencing, etc. can all come in such an affordable keyboard. Regardless of price, this is destined to be a legacy instrument that keyboardists will be talking about for a long time.
