Update for XW-G1
At the end of last week an update to the Data Editor along with a firmware update for the XW-G1 was posted on Casio’s website. Looks like the major change is to the “multifunction key” capabilities of the XW-G1. In addition to it’s other capabilities you can now assign keys on the keyboard to switch patterns. Check out Casio’s support page for the update –

Nice blog !
I downloaded the new update for the P1. But…the Mac Program crashed while updating. Now I’m stuck with a non booting XW-P1. I will have to return it to my dealer and I’m very
disappointed in Casio that they release an update that messes up your synth.
I hope it won’t take long to repair as I’ve only got it for 10 days or so.
Just to inform others not to update yet !

Paul,
Casio recently changed the updater program on the Mac side so you should be good to go now.

I can’t get my XW-G1 to accept the firmware update 1.10. On the PC, I get the Not Connected message. On the Mac, I get a message telling me to hook the keyboard to the PC and hit OK.

I was forgetting to put the XW in UPDATE mode. Thanks for pointing that out on the other forum Mike.
For anyone else updating their firmware: you have to press the POWER, EDIT and WRITE buttons at the same time to put the XW in UPDATE mode. 🙂

You will need to contact Casio service. There is no way to fix that yourself.

Your XW will need to be repaired or replaced.
